Is it possible to thrive as a healthcare worker? Absolutely!
What is Undercurrents Ministries?
We are a Christian nonprofit organization comprised of healthcare professionals from varying fields.
Our mission is to bring the hope of Jesus back to healthcare, one person at a time. Though diverse in our scope of practice, we are united in our passion for people and Jesus Christ. We are a people who are serious about following Christ, as He continues to bring His kingdom to fruition, and we are committed to kingdom work in our various places of employment.

How Do We Operate?
The need
We know that people are more than just bodies — they are God’s image-bearers who have souls. We want to equip healthcare professionals to provide quality, compassionate body and soul care at the feet of Jesus.
Our patients and co-workers are desperate for hope. We recognize that not only do we encounter our patients on some of the worst days of their lives but that the COVID-19 pandemic has added an extra layer of hopelessness to the healthcare industry. Furthermore, research shows that patients want spiritual support in times of crisis from clinicians. The research also shows that clinicians often do not feel comfortable or trained to meet the patient’s spiritual needs.
We desire to meet people where they are to show them the next steps to integrate their faith with their work in an ethical and intentional way.
Our mission
Our organization’s mission is twofold. Our first objective is to break down barriers that prevent Christians from providing gospel-oriented patient care. We do this through education via training, guest speakers/writers, community support, and more.
Our second objective is to support Christian healthcare workers by creating and providing free resources to encourage, educate, and inspire them. These resources include community groups, spiritual formation, guided journeys, articles, podcasts, and more!
What we believe
We believe that Jesus Christ, being fully God, was born of a virgin, lived a perfect life, died to cover the brokenness of sin, and rose three days later as the Savior of all mankind. We believe that he is the second person of the Trinity, and will return one day to fully establish his kingdom.
We believe that the Bible is the living, inerrant and authoritative word of God. It is applicable to all people, cultures, and seasons of life.
We believe that all Christians are called to participate in kingdom work and that, as Christians who work in healthcare, we have a unique opportunity to bring Christ to the most broken and vulnerable. Our position in healthcare is unprecedented as the nationalities and peoples stream through our places of work, regardless of socioeconomic status, education, language, or ethnicity. As kingdom workers, we are called into service through the usage of our unique skills of healing, as exemplified by compassionate care, righteous practice, sacrificial service, dependence on the Holy Spirit, and humble obedience.
